Melissa Lubars is a NYC based soprano who participates in many creative projects and collaborates with other artists to create original, multifaceted music, such as her EP entitled Ourglass. Melissa made her Off-Broadway debut as Yochebed in The US Premiere of The Ten Commandments, The Musical in May of 2022. She also premiered the roles of Annabel in the new opera, Mondo Novo by Paul Richards, and Pluto in the new opera, Pluto by Michael Polo. Other operatic and theatrical roles Melissa has performed include Emmie (Albert Herring), Berta (Black Widow), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Glinda (The Wizard of Oz), Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), and Gabbi/Bobbi (City of Angels).
Additionally, Melissa has recorded for multiple film soundtracks including The Faithful and There’s Something About John. Melissa has been sought after as a liturgical singer and sings both for Sunday church services and Jewish High Holidays in the Greater New York Area. She also sings professionally at weddings and other social events with her partner and pianist, Matt Malanowski. Currently, Melissa has a private voice studio consisting of singers of all ages. Passionate about expression, diction, and technique Melissa aims to inspire others to reach their highest potential and musical goals. Melissa received her Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from Manhattan School of Music.
